Part of appreciating any art form is engaging with the creator's POV. Even if a particular piece makes us uneasy and we take an opposite reaction from what was intended, we still should exercise our thought process to fully engage with it. Otherwise, we're just being hollow.

Something we need to get away from is calling our writing, photography, painting/drawing, and music "content." It's much more than that. It's a reflection of our artistic efforts and we should respect our art and ourselves by labeling it accordingly.
