Last week I had the privilege to attend Edgemont Community Association's volunteer appreciation event. From snow angels to ice rinks, Christmas hamper collecting, reading club volunteers for our youth, these volunteers represent the best of Calgary. I can't say thank you enough for the work they do.

Today I was happy to support a motion put forward by Cllr. McLean that would have other options for a downtown Green Line alignment put on the table. This is a step towards putting the Green Line back on track for the north, where we know neighbours want regular and reliable transit service.

Hey, neighbour! I enjoyed the Mayor's Environmental Expo today at City Hall. It was a great event that showed the passion of young Calgarians for the environment, and new and cleaner technology being used by City of Calgary business units and partners to better serve Calgarians.

Hey, neighbour! Today I was pleased to attend the groundbreaking for the new Olympic Plaza to celebrate the partnerships making this work possible. I am pleased that the historic legacy of the old Olympic Plaza will live on, with art from the plaza moving to Munro Park in Ward 4.

Hey, neighbour! I was thrilled today when council funded a shovel-ready community hub and food forest project for the Dalhousie Community Association from the Council Community Fund. This is a great project not just for Dalhousie, but for all northwest Calgary.

Hey, neighbour! I've heard from hundreds of Calgarians, many of whom are Ward 4 neighbours, and 98.7% of those people have asked me to vote to keep the free fare zone. When Calgarians speak up, I believe it's important that we listen. This is why I intend to vote to keep the free fare zone today.

On Friday I attended the Calgary Economic Development and Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund annual general meetings. CED and OCIF are delivering strong results for Calgarians, especially in these challenging economic times. Their mission to partner mirrors my own to help grow Calgary's economy.

Today I was pleased to hear from the City's civic partners who are doing amazing work to improve the lives of Calgarians. Partnerships are a key priority for my work on Calgary City Council, and supporting these civic partners is helping to advance the priorities of Ward 4 neighbours every day.

Today I visited the Calgary Food Bank, which is one of my favourite charities. I had the opportunity to discuss how the food bank is growing to meet the food security needs of Calgarians, and what I can do as your Ward 4 councillor to help ensure that we make food access easier.

I toured Calgary's Community Court and was impressed by how it is providing non-violent offenders support and accountability. 84% of clients having their needs met through case management via Community Court is telling me this is working to help solve our social disorder crisis in Calgary.

Hey, neighbour! Last week council took a tour of the Scotia Place construction. Progress is continuing towards a fall 2027 opening. Lots of hard work here by Calgary's construction industry professionals to complete this project on time.

Hey, neighbour! Attending today’s Calgary Interfaith Council breakfast was an important reminder of the role that partnership and diversity plays in building strong communities. Calgarians of different faiths coming together to find what they share in common builds strength.

On Sat., I had the pleasure of attending the opening ceremony for the Hong Kong Journey of Time 2026, and the 107th anniversary banquet in honour of the Mah Society. Both events were an amazing way to connect with Ward 4 neighbours and to celebrate their Chinese Canadian heritage and culture.

Today, I was deeply saddened to learn of the deaths of two young children who were found deceased in a vehicle in my ward. As a father of two myself, this tragedy hits me deeply.

Last night myself and my team hosted our inaugural Ward 4 leadership forum, which brought together community associations, Greenview Industrial BIA, Storybook Theatre, and CPS to discuss what the most pressing issues are in Ward 4. It was a great night of conversation and questions.

Today I attended the National Day of Mourning ceremony at Calgary City Hall. It was a somber reminder that many of the City of Calgary employees who serve the public make the ultimate sacrifice to do so, suffering occupational diseases and on the job injuries for their public service.

Hey neighbour! I was pleased to attend the 2026 Chief's Awards, where exceptional Calgarians, both civilian and sworn, were recognized by the Calgary Police Youth Foundation, Police Commission and Chief Katie McLellan for their bravery and selflessness in making Calgary safer.

I really enjoyed taking part in the Triwood Spring Market today. It was impossible to vote for the best art for the Brisebois Bees boxes because they were all so great.

Today I was pleased to attend the Nonprofit Chamber's Connections Conference alongside Mayor Jeromy Farkas. Partnerships are the key to everything my team and I do for Ward 4, and I couldn't imagine a better partner for Calgary than the chamber and its members.

Attending the small group exploration workshop put on by CMLC about potential transit oriented development in Dalhousie reminded me about why I love this community. It was great to see passionate community members discussing what they want their community to look like in the future.

Community building matters to me, which is why I attended Sport Calgary's AGM. They're building a great city through sport. Attending reinforced my belief that Calgary is a sport city and my support for Calgary's GamePLAN, which increases access to sport facilities.

Hey, neighbour! I was pleased today to hear Calgary would receive the third $64.7 million in Housing Accelerator Fund payment. Now council must do the work we were asked to do during the public hearing to fix our housing supply, and that starts with more local area plans.

Hey, neighbour! This weekend I attended an open house with the North Haven and Thorncliffe-Greenview Community Associations about their community planning work with UCalgary students. Great ideas were shared, and I'm excited to see how engagement alongside Local Area Plans will support Ward 4.

Hey, neighbour! Today at the Infrastructure and Planning Committee I am supporting ensuring that we have well maintained playgrounds in Ward 4. I also want to recognize that communities that have had demographic changes need park amenities that make these spaces useable for people of all ages.

Hey, neighbour! I want to ensure that communities are partners in their growth. At the next Executive Committee meeting I will be introducing a motion to have the City create three more Local Area Plans, so that neighbours can guide where growth occurs.

Hey, neighbour! I want to congratulate Jeremy Hansen for his historic achievement of being the first Canadian to travel to the moon and back. From being the parade marshal for the Calgary Stampede to everyone his historic journey, he has served as an inspiration for Calgarians.

I want to wish every Calgarian a happy Easter whether you are spending the day in prayer, at an Easter Egg hunt, or enjoying a well deserved holiday with family and friends. I want to also give special thanks to the community associations in Ward 4 that have held community events this weekend.
