I usually prefer reading cn/jp fics over en ones is that dialogue is really important for me and it sets the dynamics between the characters. CN/JP writers tend to follow the voice flairs closely so it gives a more canon feel.

Friend said peeps usually enjoy their favs bottoming in a while. Me: ones already bottoming, the other stays top.

The current to and fro over those we listen we don't judge stuff is just allowing boundaries to be crossed and testing the already fragile situation between lanes.

Was talking to another friend the other day about how ships usually start with canon compliant-fanon and as it goes and grows, canon starts getting shafted till the characters become not recognizable at all. It's an interesting adoption phenomenon.

Planning a new wrlt project in 2025. Looking for maybe 4 more artists and 2 more writers.

difficult take but before pointing fingers at external parties mischaracterizing the ship or your favs, why don't examine what's happening internally? Sometimes the external cries are a result of seeing what happens within the ship, and to the characters.

I always remember this one popular writer in a discord chat I was in, say along the lines of "We must write asap for this new ship else we don't be on the 1st few pages of AO3"

Maybe with Ifa and Ororon being 4* they won't be that popular like the rest. Good and bad I suppose...

It'd be one thing to enjoy fanon and transformative creativity. But it's something else when the majority is starting to think a character behaves in a certain way because of the very fanon they consume.

Genuinely bewildered how this ship is also going down the same road as my other ship and turning into OCs I don't recognize anymore.

The frightening influence hugely popular tropes have over wrlt has unfortunately created that kind of poll results in that poll...😅

I'm half-debating on a 2nd wriolette zine but I'll have to see my schedule. Either zine or anthology. There hasn't been a new ship to catch my attention that deeply.

I had a talk with a friend over whether you can worldbuild in an nsfw short -- surprised also to think that there are readers who only swear by real worldbuilding in a longfic or a multi-chaptered fic. But the challenge of succinct worldbuilding is a charm by itself, just like 6 word stories.
