As an artist that loves designing characters, I hate this design trend as well. Layers that don't make sense, outfits that seem like you'd need to be sewn into them, pieces that defy gravity and physics. It's even worse if you make your own costumes. How people don't go insane is beyond me.

From the perspective of a cosplayer, I’m not a fan of the trend of overly complicated designs in games nowadays
