Caught our barncat boy at work with a small blep last week. ❤️ He still startles and hides when you open the door of his kennel and will not accept any touch; but he'll take treats through the bars. We're hoping he can go to someone who can keep working with him, but those homes are so hard to find.

my main point w/ this thread is: give shy, fearful, reclusive cats a chance. it's so incredibly rewarding to gain their trust. they open their hearts up in spectacular ways and their personalities bloom into beautiful flowers when given the right care. be that person for them. you won't regret it.

I feel like a these cats have been completely written off. They are shy with new people & scared in new places, like any cat would be that’s lived in one house for 6 months. We tried to send them to a bigger rescue to find them homes and they were rejected for being too fearful.

If you’re a big fan of our resident blind cat Serafina, this IS the kitten for you. Maelle is basically Serafina’s mini me, and would very much like to demand preferential treatment in a home of her own. Please adopt her, this place cannot contain two personalities of such tremendous size.

What I would love more than anything for the holidays is for our two most shy mama cats to find their forever homes. Porsche, mom of the Auto Club kittens, since May this year. Shoyu, who is the mama of last year’s wonderful little grass Miso & Dashi, has been in our rescue since October *2024.*
