10 years ago, I went to my first #NetSci. I had just finished my PhD, had nothing to present, knew nobody, but I knew I was finally where I wanted to be. Fascinating science and people. I feel very lucky to have helped organize @netsciconf.bsky.social this year and to have brought my great students!

It has been a pleasure hosting the #NetSci2025 conference in Maastricht! Our thanks to all participants for their energy, ideas, talks, posters, discussions, and laughter!

Kicking off the machine learning session, @moritzlaber.bsky.social studies how incorporating prior knowledge about network dynamical systems into neural ODEs influences sample efficiency, as well as the correlation between network structure and performance. #NetSci2025

Now at signed networks, Anna Gallo proposes an algorithm to obtain statistically validated projections of bipartite, signed networks where two nodes sharing a statistically-significant number of concordant relationships are connected by a positive edge. #NetSci2025

We just had @ericacau.bsky.social at the Dynamics session proposing a framework for allowing complex simulations with Large Language Model agents in order to study opinion evolution, overcoming previous limitations using simpler agent based models. #NetSci2025

Closing the fourth #NetSci2025 day, Linda Douw shows us her approach to study the brain using multilayer networks. She particularly focused on how network science could be useful when treating neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's. #NetSci2025

Now Giulia de Meijere investigates the conditions under which seemingly erratic behavior at the individual level gives rise to stable collective dynamics in temporal networks. Her work provides insight on how society-wide collective patterns of stationarity may arise. #NetSci2025

Now at the AMS session, @yasasgari.bsky.social proposes a multiscale temporal assortativity framework to capture the temporal intricacies of temporal networks and can be applied to categorical and scalar attributes. This could estimate the impact of homophily on network dynamics. #NetSci2025

Now Helcio Felippe derives a family of graph mutual information measures that are constructed using only fundamental information theoretic principles. Moreover, he showed they effectively highlight aspects of network similarity across scales in a variety of systems. #NetSci2025

Nicholas Landry introduced an efficient sampling algorithm for microcanonical configuration models of hypergraphs. It avoids loopy edges, generates a new initial sample distinct from empirical data (adhering to realizability conditions), employs a smart criterion for MCMC sampling. #NetSci2025
