I was shocked when SAG went along w “let it rip.” The idea that actors would risk long covid (which I’ve had since early 2020) was 🤯

The safest I’ve ever felt during this ongoing pandemic was when I produced (and worked as a Covid safety officer) on a SAG low budget indie production in 2022. Strictly following the rules w testing & masking made our set incredibly safe. Cast & crew & producers alike were respectful & careful.

This is the best thing I've seen her do in years. I would love it if more celebs would be open about this. Yes, this article is mostly about reputational risk and the financial costs that come with that...but it would be SO BENEFICIAL to see that it matters to them too.

that’s very good. Anyone who has worked in tv knows that writers rooms are patient zero for sickness and it quickly spreads to everyone. I don’t understand how jsut that fact alone didn’t keep everyone masking long term.

@dropout.tv is the only production team I’m even aware of that regularly COVID tests their talent and the camera and sound crew are always masked whenever it cuts to them.

2 years after the show ended we were still sorting out the insurance,so accountants, producers, etc were actively working on new shows while sorting out shit from another show they were no longer being paid to work on. The insurance CO’s paid out BILLIONS in insurance when Covid shut down EVERY SHOW

One show I worked on was down for a month when an actor went to rehab; most crew went to other shows temporarily. We were still sorting out the insurance two years later. The same went for Covid shutdown. How shows stopped regulating for Covid at any point is beyond me. The insurance is a nightmare.
