Following the successful encapsulation of NASA's IMAP & Carruthers, and NOAA's SWFO-L1, the fairing with the 3 spacecraft was moved to LC-39A for integration with Falcon 9 ahead of launch NET September 23rd at 11:32:15 UTC. Both fairing halves, SN237 & SN230, are brand new.

Hazard area's for India's next launch have appeared! Scheduled for NET October 7th between 11:30 and 15:30 UTC, this will be the LVM3-M5 mission, which will carry the GSAT-7R (also known as CMS-02) satellite for the Indian Navy. This is the first LVM3 launch in over 2 years.

SpaceX is preparing to add a new ship to their fleet! It'll be named "You'll Thank Me Later", and will be used to transport Starship vehicles from Starbase to Florida. It's possible this will be the Marmac 308 barge, which was launched 2 weeks ago.

Space Norway also announced yesterday that they've selected Falcon 9 to launch their Thor-8 satellite in 2027! Thor-8 is the next in Telenor's series of satellites, which Space Norway acquired last year. The satellite is being built by Thales Alenia Space and will weigh ~4,000kg.

Yesterday Astranis announced that their Block 4 mission will launch on Falcon 9 with Impulse Space's Helios kickstage! Set to launch in 2027, the mission will see Falcon 9 deploying Helios with 6 MicroGEO satellites into LEO, after which Helios will take them directly to GEO!

In ~5 hours from now, at 22:11:48 UTC, SpaceX is set to launch the NG-23 resupply mission to the International Space Station! NG-23 is the first flight of the Cygnus-XL variant, which is one segment longer then the previous variant, allowing it to carry ~1,250kg more to the ISS!

Nusantara Lima weighed ~7,800 kg at launch, making it the heaviest payload ever launched into GTO by a Falcon 9. Because Falcon 9 cannot launch this much into GTO, the satellite was deployed in a so-called "sub-synchronous" transfer orbit with an apogee of only ~15,000 km.

After a 5-month gap, the NRO is back with another launch for their Proliferated Architecture! Like NROL-57, NROL-48 will be a RTLS profile, indicating that it should carry ~11 Starshield satellites compared to the usual 22. Launch is scheduled for NET September 21st at 17:37 UTC.

ESA's Sentinel-1D satellite has arrived in French Guiana! The satellite will now be prepared for its launch, which is scheduled for October or November aboard an Ariane 62 rocket. The rocket itself arrived a couple of weeks ago.

While they have not yet posted anything, the SDA did confirm mission success in a news release on their website. The next Tranche 1 launch is currently scheduled for the 2nd week of October, and will carry a batch of 21 Lockheed Martin-built Transport Layer satellites.

Inside of the fairing for T1TL-B are 21 satellites built by York Space Systems that will be part of the SDA's PWSA Transport Layer. This is a constellation of relay satellites that Tracking Layer satellites can use to downlink data, even when no groundstation is in sight.

Falcon 9 first stage B1093-6 is vertical at SLC-4E ahead of launch of the Tranche 1 Transport Layer-B mission later today at 14:12:10 UTC. Today's launch is the first of 11 launches to deploy Tranche 1 of the SDA's PWSA, with an expected cadence of one per month.

Inside of the fairing is the Nusantara Lima (5) satellite. It was built by Boeing and will be operated by PSN. From its 113° East orbital slot, it'll service communities in Indonesia, Malaysia & the Philippines as a replacement for Nusantara Dua (2) which failed to reach orbit.

SpaceX had to scrub the launch of the Nusantara Lima satellite yesterday due to unfavorable weather conditions. Unfortunately the weather isn't looking good for today either, with only a 15% to 30% chance of favorable conditions.

ULA's RocketShip has left the factory in Decatur, and is on its way to Cape Canaveral! I suspect it is carrying at the least the V-012 Vulcan rocket, which is set to launch the Project Kuiper KV-01 mission in a couple of months.

Amazon has filed with the FCC for the launch of the "KGS-1" experimental satellite, which will demonstrate how the Kuiper System can be used to replace NASA's TDRS network as part of the Communications Services Project. Launch is NET June 2026 aboard a Falcon 9 rideshare to 53.5°

Stacking of the Centaur Upper Stage for KA-03 was completed yesterday. This means ULA stacked the whole rocket (except the fairing) in about one week, yet the launch isn't scheduled until 3 weeks from now. I wonder if they're waiting on Amazon to complete satellite integration.

48 years ago, NASA's Voyager 1 probe was launched. Unlike its twin, Voyager 1 launched later on a faster trajectory, setting up for a flyby past Titan. Today, it still operates 3 instruments at 168 AU (25 billion km) away from Earth, making it the most distant probe from the Sun.

Viasat has announced that the Atlas V 551 launch of their ViaSat-3 F2 satellite is scheduled for the 2nd half of next month! It was originally supposed to launch a few months after ViaSat-3 Americas in 2023, but the F1 antenna anomaly delayed it due to additional checks and work.

Starship's 10th Flight Test was the first fully successful flight of Starship Version 2, with the Ship successfully completing all of its in-space objectives, including deploying 8 Starlink simulators and performing a Raptor relight, after which is successfully splashed down.

Firefly announced the results of their investigation into the FLTA006 failure. They determined that the first stage ruptured shortly after stage separation due to excessive heat from Plume Induced Flow Separation, which led to the loss of the nozzle on the second stage. t.co/nS5bhKECzn

A second payload called LIMASAT has been cataloged from the USSF-36/OTV-8 launch. This likely is a small satellite that has been deployed either from the X-37B's payload bay or from the service module shortly after launch.

During the NSSL industry day earlier this week, the following slide with the next National Security launches for various rockets was shown. Most notably the next Falcon Heavy with a National Security payload will be NROL-97, which isn't expected to launch until 2027.

While Blue Origin is finishing up the first stage for the launch of NASA's EscaPADE mission, they've already rolled out the second stage for Flight 3 for a static fire! This flight will launch Firefly's Elytra Mission 1 spacetug, and is expected late this year or early next year.

Some initial observations of the X-37B in orbit suggest it went into a ~330 km orbit with an inclination of 49.5 degrees.

Just weeks after the launches of TRACERS & NISAR, another 3 science missions are preparing for launch! Scheduled for NET Sep. 23, the mission will be a "rideshare" towards Lagrange Point 1. On board will be IMAP, SWFO-L1 & Carruthers Geocorona Observatory (also known as GLIDE).

There are 2 X-37B vehicles, launching today is Vehicle 1. It debuted on OTV-1 in 2010, and flew OTV-3 in 2012. It was skipped for OTV-5, presumably because it was being modified to fly with a service module. It flew again on OTV-6 in 2020. In total it spend 1809 days in space.

During a press briefing, the following slide with ISRO's launch schedule was shown: Most notably the LVM3 launch of AST's BlueBird Block 2 FM1 is shown for Q1 2026, but while talking about the launch, ISRO's Chief said it is "2 or 3 months away" (which would be Q4 2025).

On this date 48 years ago, NASA's Voyager 2 probe launched aboard a Titan rocket, using a once in 175 year planetary alignment to visit the 4 outer planets. Today, the spacecraft still operates 3 of its 10 instruments, and is almost 140 AU (21 billion km) away from Earth.

As expected, Rocket Lab's next launch is another confidential one. They say it is the 2nd of 2, and considering the 1st launched EchoStar's Lyra-4, I'm expecting at least Lyra-2 to be onboard. However I'm not aware of any other satellites they could have manifested.
