I’ve decided I don’t like the term “wish fulfillment” when used as a negative descriptor for a book, movie, etc. Is it such a pathetic, simpleminded act, really, for artists to make something they wish to see or experience? Or is that, in fact, one of the central reasons anyone creates anything?💙📚

This is a step in the right direction, I think. I have very severe mental health struggles, especially on the autistic/ADHD side, and spirals of anxiety and depression. I worried I would do what I’ve always done, which is only try to take care of everyone else. But a good mod helps.

I had my first meeting in a peer support group and while there was a moment of awkwardness, it was so validating. People who understand a very specific type of struggle that you just can’t… word. No matter how much you want others to understand. I’m glad I tried it.
