I mostly stopped writing or die trying bc I didn’t have the time but also bc I didn’t know how to write the second half in a way that worked for the current political moment. today it came to me

woah pacing a mystery is tricky! what to reveal? when? how? and how long can i string readers along for before they lose interest? all fun stuff

attempting to publish original short stories (not self-publish) is a brutal exercise in perseverance. successful writer friends tell me a 10% acceptance rate is good, which means tolerating 90% rejection. i just got another of those rejections but it was the kindest and most encouraging yet. onward!
