Broke my foot exactly six weeks ago today. A freak accident, just a single misstep on a bad sidewalk. Four weeks on crutches, two weeks in a boot, and today I took a first few steps in a sturdy shoe. Doesn’t feel great honestly, but I don’t think I’ll feel normal for a while. At least it’s progress.

I’ve never been so prepared for a semester than right now. However, the only reason I’m ready is because I broke my foot and couldn’t walk for a month. This level of meaningless prep work is not compatible with real life.

I mean, you remember those days when you’d photocopy the syllabus, hand it out the first day of class, and that was it?

This all day long.
