People's responses to Trump are more nuanced and shifting. I can't believe there isn't increased push back against the madness. But this comment on the UK Telegraph is interesting. His rhetoric makes sense as style as much as ideology

The best opponents of misinformation are not political journalists because they see it as part of a power game. It takes expert journalists to expose the lies and also how dangerous they are.

A bright spot in the turgid local news debate. A business model that combines the best of traditional journalism with a modish format. I've read more interesting stories from Jim in one year than a decade of the dreadful Standard.

In conversations with senior broadcast people it's clear to me that the real problem with public service broadcasting (in the UK but also elsewhere) is not 'bias' or even resources - it's the dilution of editorial management input. No one is monitoring standards or urging improvement. Thoughts?
