Aquatic plant spotlight: Pickerelweed (Pontederia cordata) Pickerelweed is a native wetland plant with violet flower spikes from late spring through summer. It stabilizes sediments, absorbs excess nutrients, improves water quality, and provides habitat for fish, amphibians, and insects.
