My second cinema trip this week for Scare Out, a new Chinese film from Zhang Yimou. A slick, ultra-modern spy thriller, spoiled by terrible editing. You can count the number of shots over 2 seconds on the fingers of one hand! The editor must have been paid by the cut!

And the second in my double-bill was Korean film No Other Choice from Chan Wook Park, about a man who loses his job and decides killing off rival candidates is the best way to secure a new position. I liked it but not as much as the critics - I wanted more dark comedy.

A cinema double-bill yesterday. First up was Another World, an animated film from China. Was OK but it got quite dark at times which i think would limit the appeal.
