“Conv-BDI: An extension of the BDI framework for conversational agents” — Very existential questions addressed early in the morning: What is the purpose of an agent? What if its purpose is fulfilled or obsolete? #semdial2025 #bialogue

Day 2 of #semdial2025 #bialogue ... LLMs, dialog systems, pragmatics, international stuff with machines and humans. Cool.

Crucially, their work highlights the importance of the communicative setting and how it affects variation in situated interaction. Their data neatly “show that the relative frequency of the different CDS constructions varies with the social situation and children’s age”.
