Twitter aka X has become unusable in recent days. The entire algorithm is pushing far-right extremists into the feeds, people fetishising mob law, glorifying nazi propaganda, and a level of hate that's unprecedented. I'm truly glad there are alternatives out there, including Threads and Bluesky.

Back in school I used to learn different countries deal with the risk of the downfall of democracy in different ways, and the USA use their checks and balances to have the Supreme Court stop the US president if necessary. Turns out the US president can just ignore courts now?

We attempted to have a European Defence Community (with an actual European army) in the 1950s and it failed. We need to revive this project, adapt it to the 2020s, and execute it properly. There must be no doubts anymore about the EU's military capabilities!
