My favourite thing when watching mixing tips for music on Youtube are those moments when they make a change, bypass to the original signal, and then say 'wow. listen to that difference'. And I sit there thinking 'I don't hear any change'.

I knew my former band had started to make it, not by radio play or being approached by a producer, but when a friend berated me for an hour because we had changed our sound.

I did a survey today on AI generated music, where they asked after playing snippets of several songs which ones were AI -- and I got them all correct.

Maybe someday I'll be good enough to do this all the time.

Saw Garbage last night, and they were great. Maybe a little too reliant on the backing tracks, but Shirley knows how to work a crowd.

I honestly don't give any weight to commentary that states Bluesky is an echo-chamber and that this is somehow terrible. I do think the lack of algorithms is a legitimate gripe though. Back in the old days when cassettes were how you got your music out there. Three bands that I was in, all with the same drummer. 2 with my current bandmate in Dichroma.

I just made $.29 with my music via Socan (Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada). Make sure you have your works registered with a publisher -- this is on top of what I get from my distributor.
