Yeah, I think the issue I kept running into was that it was hard to keep the stagger up, so I kept the monster slot for dmg only unless I needed double healing 🤔 Let me know when you start playing though! 13-2 felt rougher to me but I'd be interested to hear how your fights go! :D

Commando launch is harder to pull off bc I think Noel isn't as built for it, I think he felt better as Ravager? and Serah was mostly on support and debuff and healing So for the 3rd slot which is monster, uh good luck training them to launch AHAH

Hmmmm, from my recent playthrough, it's not first hour. However It may have been first third of the game so technically close enough?

Unfortunately, Behemoths are a stable in FF no matter the time and place 13-2 is definitely harder because the 3rd slot is whatever monster you've tamed as Serah and there's few that matches up to Behemoth LR though, it's pretty easy, the sets allow a lot of flexibility

Oh I know exactly which fight ya mean. You're always guaranteed a pre-emptive strike so that is way easier already But same, I focused on the Behemoth King first. I think by the time I got there, I could beat the fight easily in a minute but Behemoths are hard so I get it ahah

FUN FACT I may butcher this tip but if you launch the Behemoth right when it transforms, you'll cancel out the HP recover Either that or Highwind it with Fang I remember it was a unique Commando ability and I could cheat out wins for easy grinding for the crystarium

The Bart fights HURT. I did have to look up guides for him after days of attempt so I get it. I did play a lil odd because I tried to see how much I could beat the game with minimal grinding as a challenge 13-2 is interesting, Haste is no longer as broken for example. How did LR feel for you?

I did my playthroughs blind for the most part in FFXIII, so I never knew of this, but that's pr cool! FFXIII-2 and LR required me to look up guides more though but honestly, I love FFXIII fighting system the most, esp for its flexibility

THE INFAMOUS ADAMANTINE TORTOISE GRIND I had Vanille leveled up in the Saboteur role so it was easier and faster for me to debuff For the final fight, I used Fang as Sentinel, Sazh for his buffs and dmg, and Hope for the healing and extra buffs. That is SUPER funny though, never knew either!

Chapter 7 was just the banger chapter of all time then! Also same, she was a more emotionally aggressive character at first, but afterwards, it's like I'd do the same as her honestly. And she backed up her word for the most part My main party for story was Fang, Lightning, and Vanille. Though ㅡ

Ahaha, yeah! The voice acting, the expressions, the scenery, it was perfect. The whole 'oh man, how do I fix this' while also being emphatic while making sure we stay alive? I forget the chapter but a scene that's stood out to me is when Lightning opens up to Fang. It was pretty close after ㅡ

Absolutely! By the end of FXIII, I was emotionally attached to all of them. And yeah that is a neat detail, that's stuck out to me too! For me, I've always loved how flawed as a character Lightning is. She's extremely capable but also reckless for example. She's human, in multiple aspects, like us.
