The UK Online Safety Act goes way beyond preventing children from accessing NSFW content. It is control and while I didn’t vote for them, I’m surprised how far Labour is taking this. It is following in the footsteps on the US and that should seriously scare us.

And after two days of travelling and three days of MCM, I’m finally home. It was a great weekend that reminded me how important fandom spaces are and made me want to attend again at some point. For now, it’s time for some much needed rest.

Anybody in the UK who says they care about kids but advocate or support the current ban on HRT for under-18s are hypocrites and liars. This is going to cause so many more deaths, and it’ll be on the governments hands.

I don’t mean to keep going on about BlueSky and how good it is but it honestly made me realise the way I was consuming social media was so unhealthy for my mental health. It’s helped me learn how to use social media in a much healthier way and reevaluate how I consume media in general.

I’m working on other article ideas currently but I’m thinking of doing a day in life type piece about sex work. It probably wouldn’t be until next year sometime and seeing how it would be a first-hand account, I understand how trusting someone would have to be for this.

Moving over to BlueSky and deleting most other social media apps off my phone has been the most cathartic thing I’ve done in a long time. I didn’t realise how negatively those apps were affecting my mental health. Glad I made the change.

Drink some water, have some good food, take a break, take your meds if you have them. It’s scary and disappointing but there’s nothing to do right this moment except feel your feelings and take care of yourself. You can feel upset and angry, but take care of yourselves too.
