I think I figured out where I’m struggling with Crimson Desert: it feels like trying to go back and play assassin’s creed 2’s control scheme after playing odyssey or Valhalla

I said it earlier this year when it released: the 2.0 patch of Phantom Brigade put this game over the top. It’s an absolute gem for tactical strategy games, and if you love mechs? Incredible

I heard a recent game in development get touted as having a world "twice the size of Skyrim"...The thing is, that's a metric that doesn't mean anything anymore (it used to, when world size put limits on fidelity because of hardware capabilities). 1/2

This update is incredible. I've played a ton of Phantom Brigade this weekend since the 2.0 patch hit. It's AWESOME. Do you like XCom level tactics/campaign/management? Do you like Mechs? Do you like a big campaign of liberation?! You NEED to play this game if any of the above remotely appeal!

When your previous book series has called to you with an irresistible plea to come hang out with those characters again and get a story going... Looks like I'm going to get started on Book 3 of my "A Cook's Guide..." series! I'm still querying A Cook's Guide to Supernatural Philadelphia, too!

And it’s led to a subpar offering, and Microsoft in last place in anything related to consoles and gaming. I’m sure Satya and the suits are certain A.I. will magically fix this :(

@vtmbloodlines.bsky.social 2 would be better received if Paradox named it something else. It set expectations that the game was not going to fulfill under the new direction. It’s not an RPG, doesn’t resemble the original at all. So It comes off as a cynical cash grab by paradox. Even if it wasn’t.

Today I’m left wondering how different the launch of Bloodlines 2 would have been had it been the original team and vision. All fans wanted was a new game like Bloodlines (RPG, in the Vampire universe). Bloodlines 2 is an action game. Not even an action RPG. Ugh
