Born OTD in 1943, Gordon West was a teenager when signed by the Toffees from Blackpool for a record fee for a goalkeeper. The Yorkshireman was synonymous with the club’s success in the 60s, winning 3 major trophies. He was later the beneficiary of what eventually became EFCFPF.

#OTD 22 April 1961, Harry Catterick took charge of his first @Everton game as manager. He arrived from @swfc who were also his first opponents, back at his former club, with #Everton winning 1-2. The Owls featured @winghalf6 who would sign for the Toffees on 27 Dec 1962.

Tommy Clinton, Everton and Ireland footballer was born on 13 April 1926. He would live on Goodison Avenue into the 1990s and his wife Muriel and daughter Nicola have both worked for EFC.

On 9 April 1909, the Toffees enjoyed a 5-0 victory in the Merseyside derby. Goodison goal machine Bertie Freeman grabbed a brace. Freeman netted 38 times in the league that season, a feat only bettered by Dixie Dean for the Blues.
