Video of LRADs deployed in Minneapolis immediately reminded me of militarized assault on #NoDAPL water protectors in 2016/17, which echoed 20th c assaults. Detention at Ft. Snelling has an older, longer, painful history. If you know Indigenous history, you recognize the patterns immediately.

The majority of archival material out there has NOT been digitized. So if you really want to figure something out, odds are that you have to go to an archive and dig. Historians are trained to dig.

I really like that Harvard is opening its online government classes for free, and I wonder if we could do more along the lines: more opportunities to teach broadly, more opportunities to show people what we really do, perhaps in person so that people can see we’re human.
