Before I looked at yesterday's #SWCP #CoastPath section I'd never heard of Charlestown. Now a relic of primary extractive industry from past centuries, I read it's now used as a film set. Poldark has used it. Sometimes there are tall ships in the harbour, but not yesterday.

So I bought what I thought was my usual Mature Cheddar from my regular supermarket, but when I opened it and cut it, it seemed different. Close inspection of the packaging showed it was not Cheddar but "reduced fat cheese" dressed up to look like cheddar. It's about halfway between soap and rubber.

I will be getting a train from A to B. Station X is on the route, but not all trains stop there. I have a split ticket, one covering A to X, the other X to B. If I get on a train which doesn't stop at X, will I be in trouble if there's a ticket inspector on the train? This is not a trick question!

In supermarkets here in the UK the fresh pasta section offers you tortelloni with 5 or 6 different fillings. Can't decide which to get? Don't worry, because I can now reveal that once cooked they all taste the same. No need to thank me.

I don't enjoy gardening much because for me it mostly means hacking at stuff and digging up weeds and putting it all in the garden recycling bin which gets emptied every 2 weeks. But it does mean that once the bin's full I can stop hacking and digging until it's emptied again. Small joys.
