I will likely be rewatching FRIEREN season 1 in early-mid January in anticipation of season 2. The first season was one of the best animes that I've watched in a long time. Such a wholesome, calming and beautifully animated series.

Working a full-time job and studying a degree takes its toll. The stress peaks are sporadic sure but there's a general tide of spinning too many plates. I haven't gamed in a substantial way in a while and generally it's hard to keep on top of multiple hobbies like movies, anime, gym, social life etc

It truly sucks that companies are doing dubs with AI. I don't want to watch anything made by something without a soul. I think as AI further explodes with realism they will only be sneakier about how they do it too, and you will really have to do detective work to catch them out.

Around 2 months until we will get some news about Dragon Ball. Personally I am hoping for a continuation of the Daima era. I feel like it was such a fresh slant on the series there's room to play in it for another 5 years whether it's through another season or movies.

So at the start of November I had a uni assignment and on balance I genuinely think it was the hardest I have ever had! It was so open-to-interpretation and while the concepts were fine they needed to be applied in ways slightly different to what we had practiced. I thought I'd fail but I GOT A 68 !

CGI Jeff Goldblum can't hurt you

I saw WICKED: FOR GOOD and have been rereading Gregory Maguire's original novel which I loved as a teen. I'd give the movie 7.5 out of 10. Still a great movie with a lot to love but a bunch of weak spots for me also. Still, appears to be a commendable job given how folks regard Act 2 of Wicked.

A few months later & this person is genuinely one of my favourite connections I have made at work in a good while! The social aspect at my job hasn't always been great (we're working to change it) but who would've known I'd meet someone at work I could talk to about anime, Dr Who, Wicked, movies etc

I think I am going to do a full rewatch of Frieren over December into January. The tranquillity, the wide open sense of adventure with stunning natural backgrounds, the developed characters. I remember loving it the first time around.

I think I have read the One Piece manga back to front 3 times. I have definitely done at least 2 full rereads while the series was at 1100+ chapters. I remember the last time it took me about 6-8 months since I don't have so much time to spend on that compared to when I was a kid.

One Piece is exploding rn. Netflix got Egghead sub but a week behind Crunchyroll. Netflix made a Live Action & secured the WIT remake. Crunchyroll has all eps subbed. BBC iPlayer got 1000+ eps dubbed. Netflix will soon add the very first eps in dub & sub. Everybody's dying for a piece of One Piece!

There is no 'nostalgia' factor of watching DBGT when younger clouding your vision - watching it without a hater in your ear is the true experience because all the idolised otaku forum/messageboard elders were furious about it and nobody wants to be uncool and ostracised for stepping out of line.

Ventured into town today

I love films that hurt. To me, a film that makes you feel something is better than a film that you can say is brilliant on a technical level but doesn't stay with you after you walk out of the screen.

For a long time I went through a phase of setting some big cultural films aside for a later day as I didn't like the idea of power through iconic movies like a checklist and having seen most of them. This weekend I finally watched 500 Days of Summer! I really enjoyed it - beautiful film.

The deal Pokémon have made to host the seasons of the Pokémon anime is very strange. Youtube is leaning towards short-form content but at the same time in some facets trying to be pushed like a streaming service. Do people actually view Youtube as a streaming service anymore than say what iTunes was

It would be easy to come back and pull some switcheroo and say that Billie Piper isn't The Doctor. It would actually take guts to have her be The Doctor for the next 3 or 4 years and make something really fantastic out of it. She could absolutely lead that show forward.

Return to Oz is a masterpiece

I enjoyed Netflix's adaptation of The Thursday Murder Club a lot - probably an 8/10 for me. Although, some of the changes were a little disappointing even if I understand why they were made. Despite a couple of 'fake outs', omitting the Father Mackie plot was a big mistake.
