I'm curious to hear what you guys like from anime games. I did like fighting games but tbh I think that was just from when I was younger. I much prefer anime games to have RPG aspects & large open-world mechanics. I just don't find solely fighting interesting anymore. That's why I loved DB Kakarot.

Heads up for UK folks, it looks like Dragon Ball Kai season 1 & 2 are being added to Disney+ on 17th of May!

Because I was there from the beginning, a lot of my Pokémon love tends to focus on Kanto or Johto as highlights. WHile I played Black & WHite and X&Y they are entries that don't really spring to mind often so I'd like to play them a bit more - hopefully late this year

Dragon Ball, alongside One Piece is an interest I've had for pretty much 25-30 years and the switch has always been 'on'. Even the worst Dragon Ball is still Dragon Ball! And in the post-Toriyama era I think we need to simply engage with what we like. There's no point obsessing over what you hate.

I mean, I know they are going back to Super, which I am definitely excited for but I also would love to see Dragon Ball Daima continue one day if there's a will at the creative side to do so. Such a fun, fresh series to follow. New lore, new characters. Another miniseries, or movies, I'd take.

I saw the Michael Jackson movie the other day and it had me thinking about GTA: Vice City and how the Michael Jackson music was stripped out of the remaster due to rights. It might be an overreaction but music such as Billie Jean truly was such a quintessential part of that gaming experience.

I saw a meme recently about the remote helicopter explosives level in GTA: Vice City and it made me realise that might have been a universal experience. I remember LOSING IT as a wee kid over that level... any of you guys remember ?

Whatever your opinion on Dragon Ball Daima, there was something really magical about having a brand new Dragon Ball series to watch, and share together as a fandom. No source material, no spoilers. Granted, I was a week behind but being able to follow it weekly on Netflix was so special.

Vegeta is my favourite Dragon Ball character. I've always loved his, understated at times, slowburn journey into becoming a hero. He starts out as a direct villain to the 'Z Fighters' and over time joins them. I remember actively taking this in as a child, as a lesson that bad people can become good

Some people will say “video games are a waste of time” after they’ve just been watching videos on TikTok for 3 hours.

Something I hate is the gatekeeper aspect that so many anime fans adopt. I started being a fan of One Piece in around 2005 but idgaf if you started watching 20 years ago or 20 days ago. As long as you make the decision to invest in this story you are welcome aboard and as much as fan as me.

Is there a character you initially hated but later came to love? I properly HATED Brook from One Piece when he was introduced because I thought he made the series stupid but then I was like I'm being a dumb teenager and now I love him. MVP at times such as Fishman Island.

I'm watching the first episode of the Elbaph arc and MAN they captured the pre-timeskip artstyle PERFECTLY.

People who keep bleating on about how bad Dragon Ball Evolution is are so basic. Like I am very much in agreement that was a bad film but why are you still talking about it every week when 17 years have passed? Can you not move on with your life in almost 2 decades. It's so boring and copypaste.

I thought the Funimation voices for Goku & Vegeta were generally very good but the Ocean/Westwood voices will always be special for me. Nostalgia aside, I always liked Brian Drummond's raspy, entitled approach for Vegeta. For Goku, Peter Kelamis was great & I actually particularly loved Kirby Morrow

What games are you guys playing atm? I have Dragon Quest 1 HD2D Remake but I might start up Pokopia tonight because I have waited a few weeks and with it sitting here I think I'll struggle to wait any longer.

I think I am gonna follow along weekly with the Elbaph episodes. The manga was starting to lose me ngl until last week's chapter.

I have read One Piece to present maybe 4 times. A part of me wants to do another reread this summer but at the same time I can't help but thinking that free time could go towards other new reads like Hunter X Hunter and Frieren.

I'm starting to pack up my apartment because it's getting torn down this year and I rediscovered my old Gameboy games

Dub versus Sub debates in 2026 is so BORING. Production quality has definitely improved since the early 2000s. Some dubs are bad, some dubs are good. Some people enjoy both! I will always watch the sub but there are some dubs that are quality and I will check them out too.

Up to episode 8 in my Frieren rewatch.

Sorry if I am not the most responsive lately. I am feeling super burned out. Feel so drained this week and like I'm being pulled in so many directions and everybody wants something and everything is urgent.

As somebody who has been a fan of One Piece for about 20 years, something I love about ONE PIECE LIVE ACTION is its ability to offer a bit of uniqueness by integrating things we learned retroactively in the story, into the present events as we move through them.

Now that my assignment is out of the way I unboxed my new phone I left sitting for 2 weeks because it would have distracted me, I am gonna start reading Hamnet, I've watched the entire first season of Euphoria, 3 eps into ONE PIECE LIVE ACTION, and soon I'll start Dragon Quest HD2D 1 & 2

My issue with most murder mystery film adaptations is that what ends up being cut for time are mostly red herrings--which would be the right choice for any other adaptation, but in a murder mystery those dead-ends are intentional distractions and without them the solutions are easier to guess.
