I have watched 6 whole movies so far this year (none of them new).

Why oh why does my brain only want to work on this story today, the day it is due, when I’ve had 4 months to get it done?

I’m just trying to get like 5000 of them in an order that makes sense right now.

Hammering this story into shape but it’s made of an alloy tougher than I am.

Do I have a huge TBR pile eating up space on my bedside table? Yes. Did I just go to a cool used book store and grab a whole ‘nother stack of books? …. Also yes.

As others have said... if you say, "well, I don't use generative AI to write, just as a collaborative editor," you just aren't qualified to be a writer. You're also just plain foolish given that editing like writing is a creative act and one that requires the full concentration of the human brain.

All the variations of "every writer is using AI so you may as well too" is just more bullshit disinformation being spread by desperate techbros terrified the bubble is about to burst. Which it is. None of us are using it. No writer is using AI. Anyone using AI isn't a writer, they're a slopslinger.
