Finished Treasures of Aht Urhgan (barring the epilogue). My least favorite expansion so far. Really feel like everything with Luzaf and Ephramad could have been a far more interesting story than we really get to see. IDK man fuck empires, IDGAF if they empress is woke now.

FFXI's story arcs really do benefit from the fact they're not connected. You get a new, small cast and enough time to know them, and it never really feels like they overstay their welcome or just stick around after finishing their personal arc.

I'm glad I haven't seen people posting the "empires on average only last 250 years" factoid recently bc it means I don't have to explain how it isn't actually true
