Jesus, ever since I moved back in June, my gaming momentum literally hit a brick wall. I know most of it stems from all the work we've had to do, and we're still working on boxes and furniture setups. It's been slow since we've had to budget and plan. But fuck... I still need to play E33 and DS2.

Typing this up during the intermission... Aside from Tarantino being an absolute dickbag, we had to see this in its full glory on the big screen. So far, it is so worth it. Still pisses me off it took him over 20 years to release this here.

This past week, I've noticed that I've been a little on edge, with weird emotional shifts and disrupted sleep. It just dawned on me that it has now been ten years. December 21, 2015, my apartment was broken into while I was at work (everything was recovered). Thirteen days later, my mom died.

Silly take, but I really dislike the new logo. Mostly color-wise. The teal really throws it off, and WHERE'S MY GIGANTIC MONSTER?! 🤬

Live service/MMO fees/early access/microtransactions. The fact that WoW alone cost me over $2100 in sub fees over the course of nearly 12 years is fucking bananas. But throwing more money than what a game is worth at a company is a serious problem on its own. *points at Star Citizen backers*

Call of Duty was once revered for having some of the most exciting and brutally realistic single-player campaigns a little over a decade and a half ago. The zombie spinoff shit ruined a lot of it for me. Now, in 2025, we have the player fighting an evil colossus Michael Rooker. Just... what? 😂

Ghost of Yotei so far is absolutely phenomenal in every aspect. Though the way you uncover explored areas of the map severely screws with my OCD... 😐 "Why are you going back? The quest is up north." "Theres a tiny blip of empty territory I need to uncover."

Trying to teach your cat to play board games with you is trickier than we had anticipated. Probably shouldn't have started with Trivial Pursuit. 🤔 Poor fella has only been around a year, and expecting him to know what year during WWII the Battle of the Bulge took place is asking a bit much.

Ninja Gaiden 4 is getting temporarily shelved. I'm either hitting burnout from playing the others recently, or the fact that 4 is just insanely monotonous. The combat is excellent, but I can only take fighting wave after wave of repetitive mobs in a repetitive landscape for so long.

Calcifer is doing much better on the "no kitties on the counter" rule, so now he just politely watches us cook dinner from the garbage can. 😅

I don't think we can hate on the cover art of Switch 2 games enough. The glaring block of text at the bottom with the QR code is so blatantly unnecessary, it's almost as if Nintendo is trying to mock physical collectors. 🙄

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black is definitely a slick remaster. I really hope Team Ninja can eventually do the same treatment to the first one. They took all the good elements of Sigma 2, junked the fluff, and exaggerated the 360 version's gore without sacrificing any visuals or framerate. This was a blast!

After 24 years, the XBOX brand is officially dead. Jesus fucking Christ, dude, way to completely miss the whole entire point of the competitive gaming industry. People don't buy video game consoles just for multimedia fluff. They want GAMES. Everything else is supplemental. Such a garbage take.

Borderlands 4 has a lot of good things going for it, if you look past the glaring technical problems. But as a whole? This game marched 10 steps forward, but fell 147 steps backwards in the process. Who the fuck thought it was a great idea to make so many "charges before firing" guns?!

I was almost ready to give Silent Hill F the "pefection" praise until this late-game section where I'm chasing down a fog monster... ... and it's literally just a confined gauntlet of enemies that force me to break all my weapons and consume vital resources... This isn't scary. It's monotonous.

I'm slightly amused at the arguments over SHf's stronger emphasis in combat. For YEARS, people complained about how clunky combat was in the series. Then comes Silent Hill f, where combat is fast, strategic, and oddly satisfying. Those same people: "No, not like that..." 😐

Jesus fucking Christ, Silent Hill f is beyond stunning, both in art direction and performance. With this and last year's phenomenal remake of 2, it's safe to assume that this franchise is back to its classic PS2-era roots. I am in horror heaven right now.

When the world outside is so much of a friggen shitshow, you find comfort in escaping to these hellish places. 😐
