Thistle tensed a little when Jawhara patted him on the head, relaxing upon realising it was simply a headpat, and smiled at him. “Thank you!” he took the plate and sat down at the table with it, swinging his legs, “Are you going to come and eat, too?” Eating is fun when you get to have it together

“We are prepared for monster attacks, obviously, that’s why we had guards that destroyed all of those skeletons and exorcists to get rid of them when they come back. It‘s just unnecessary to cause such a mess for a joke that isn’t even funny! Clearly you’re terrible at pranks and jokes +

He narrowed his eyes, squinting at the blanket. It was true; he could not sense any magic woven into it. The little elf scowled. “You shouldn’t shove souls into corpses for a ’little scare’. Undead /kill/ people, you idiot! They eat people alive! +

“Oh. So you are essentially lots of jealous ghosts mixed together? Do they all scream in your head?”

“A homunculus? Like a fairy? They must have used a /lot/ of bodily fluids to make you. And envy. How did they do that? Did they cast a spell while thinking of all the things they’re jealous about? I guess shooting and stabbing is not as bad as mauling.”

His ears flicked. “I have never heard of that before. How can you be a manifested emotion? Are you like a spirit? How can you eat souls? I suppose if you’re spirit then maybe you exist on the same plane of reality so you can eat them… A zombie definitely would have bitten me by now.”
