The Parisian cinema scene is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. 30 cinemas alone in the Cinémas Indépendants Parisiens network, and that’s before the new build multiplexes! National and international new releases and repertory programming everywhere. A film lover’s paradise!

Nothing makes me happier than knowing that Beyonce FINALLY won Album of the Year in country, the genre that includes her most racist haters. Enjoy!

It is a hot August night. We are in a clearing watching the fireflies as the stars and moon begin to light the the sky. We pass a chilly bottle of white wine back and forth while Joni Mitchell plays softly in the background.

it’s frustrating how angelina jolie trained her voice for opera and classical singing, and didn’t receive any nomination at he oscars. meanwhile emilia perez and the brutalist both used ai on their lead actors vocals to enhance their performance and received nominations.

A ★★★★★ review of Paris Is Burning (1990)
This is definitely one of the best documentaries i’ve ever seen. It never judges, and just presents their lives and their shared culture in a way that’s so unique.

If you’re somewhere with a snow day today and you go to the movies, remember to be patient and extra kind to theater workers. They’re going to be open with short staff and busier than expected. Say thanks, buy an extra box of junior mints, and enjoy the show! 🍿

dark to think that fascists like musk waited until there was a well cultivated illusion that large platforms like twitter were symmetrically empowering for the left and right (for people and the establishment) before wresting control away from us.
