#American potato plants are fascinating. Here in #Burley, #Idaho, I am working at one of the most advanced french fries plant in the world. This one IS makes approximately 1/4th of the global french fries sold. Their data collection on their process is amazing!

Back in #USA. Specifically #Idaho. I will be providing assistance to a French fry, or as many people call them, chip factory. First time in potato factory. Should be interesting.

Sad. Still in #Waco #Texas. I was hoping to return to Japan on Saturday, but due to issues onsite, it is now Tuesday, leading into lunch, and awaiting permission to do loaded tuning. Wife and child are not happen 😔. But this is the life of a field engineer.

It is very wet and stormy in #Waco. I hope all the locals are safe. Like some many things in #Texas, the thunderstorms seem bigger.

Today in #waco, I must get up early to start commissioning a large, medium voltage VFD. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. The purpose of this equipment is to provide safety and reliability to an existing fuel system. I look forwards to working with the fine folks at the facility.

Enlisted personnel toilets on #USS #Alabama. Apparently if the floor is red, enlisted. If green, it is for officers.

#ship #propeller from the #USS #Alabama. If you look closely, you can see small pitting. This is not from rust or corrosion. This is caused by #cavitation. The water boils due to pressure changes by the shaft spinning. This also is how Mantis Shrimp kill their prey as well.

#baseball memorabilia from #USS #Alabama crew. A MLB Hall of Fame player volunteered to enlist. We have special section of the #Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame at #Tokyo #Dome which memorializes Japanese pro athletes that died in #WII. Baseball conquers all. Older than modern Japanese state.

When talking to one of the volunteers of #USS #Alabama, he asked what ships we preserved in Japan. "No. US sank most of them". I shared that the motor factory for my employer survived the Nagasaki bombing and if he visited, I could show him .50 cal holes from US Army attacks in I beams.

I took a #tour of the #USS #Alabama. Exceptional experience. Staff very friendly. They even had Asian American teenagers dressed in period correct Imperial Japanese Army uniforms, though they could not speak Japanese.

#international #work has me in the lovely city of #Mobile, #Alabama. I get lost because there are parades for local celebration of #Mardi #Gras. I suspect it is some sort of religious thing. There are bands marching. People very friendly.

Off to a new work site. #international #travel. I will be assisting in the commissioning of two #quay #cranes. These cranes take containers on and off large cargo ships. I hope it will be warmer than #Montreal, but we will see.

Was recently in Vancouver and saw these beautiful birds at the Bloedel Conservatory. Started talking to them and they moved into attractive photo positions and then back to what they were doing.

Uh oh. Just checked my flights. I have to wake up at 2am to get to the airport. #early #international #travel I don't think much sight seeing is on the agenda. Sorry #Montreal. We must do it next time I am here.

So much #snow. Job is done. A friendly local helped me get my rental car moving. I am ashamed I didn't get his name. #Montreal, I don't know how you do it. I will be sheltering in my hotel until my plane ride home on Saturday. I one day, will return with family to see all the good spots!
