When I joined the board, the superintendent kept repeating “one board, one voice.” I understand now why my community has been neglected under that approach. My job is to represent the people in my area who elected me, not to follow a script that hides disagreement.

When the federal government centralizes power in the Executive Branch, it weakens public trust. Our School Superintendent is doing the same by seeking to be the only one who decides what counts as “controversial.” Democracy depends on shared judgment, not a single gatekeeper.
