A cute and tasty mudshrimp relative, often used as fishing bait ₍₍⁽⁽🦐₎₎⁾⁾ But on its abdomen is a parasitic crustacean called a rhizocephalan barnacle…!!

He/She glows.

An aquarium staff member contacted me and gave me this individual after it washed up on the shore. It was in a condition that made it difficult to exhibit or keep, so they hoped many people could still see it this way!! It still has some sand on it, but I photographed it just as it was🐚..

Look closely at the surface of the sea cucumber… There’s a strange little creature hiding there! This scale worm changes its coloring to match its sea cucumber host. You’d never notice it unless it moves. Such amazing camouflage! ✨️

Hey English speakers, I need your help✨️ おはようみうし“Ohayō miushi” is a Japanese wordplay. It combines “Ohayō” (good morning) and “umiushi” (sea slug / nudibranchb). In Japanese: Ohayō → good morning umiushi → sea slug / nudibranch Is there a natural way to express this kind of pun in English?

I found a sea slug relative that carries a shell 🫧 ͛.* Its white, translucent mantle is spilling out from the shell! And most of all, look at that face… those tiny round eyes are just too cute 👀✨
