My recent brainstorm idea has been an Ishgardian Inquisitor but he's just a beat cop from the 50's who's a few weeks away from retirement.

Loyce wields an eerie monolithic greatsword passed down to him from his mentor; old and sturdy, whatever ceremonial purposes this blade was originally intended for were long lost with proper usage. Where most usually name their blades, Loyce has never bothered.
