Rewatching both episodes again, I just noticed Rheneas' role in Don't Bother Victor is nearly the same as Kevin's in Steamy Sodor with both of them trying to talk sense into the main character who's been put in charge for the day. Except Rheneas didn't go into a panic like Kevin did.

It's crazy how Trackmaster made a toy of this one-off gag from an episode.

Is it bad that I still find this episode a guilty pleasure of mine? For me, this is one of the better episodes from the Nitrogen era and Lowham is hilarious.

Why the hell was Thomas so chill with the bees flying around him? If I were in that situation, I'd be freaking out so hard.

If you think about it, this episode is basically the Thomas equivalent to Think Positive from Regular Show.

While I think Hiro and Luke are similar role-wise, their reasons for hiding away are pretty different. For Hiro, he was an old engine that'd been abandoned for a long time so he feared about being scrapped if Topham sees him. With Luke, his fears came from him believing he got someone killed.

So I have a pretty weird theory: What if Don't Bother Victor was originally written for S13, but was pushed back to S16 because Nitrogen didn't make renders of the SKR engines yet? I imagine the replacement episode for it was either Steamy Sodor or Hiro Helps Out.

This episode was also the reason Duncan became one of my dad's favourite characters given he went through a similar experience to him when he was a taxi driver.

I always liked Skarloey and Luke's dynamic in Luke's New Friend, it really reminds of the relationship between Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob (mainly in the pre-movie era).

I get the feeling Luke and Millie being seen with a brakevan coupled each in this scene from The Switch was meant to be like a reference to how the NG engines had a single truck behind them to hide their electronics during S4. Same with Victor in KOTR and The Lost Puff.

Either this was a coincidence or they actually did trace this off Gordon's face here.

12 years later, and this scene from 'Duncan & the Grumpy Passenger' still resonates today.
