As we approach our 6th birthday we’ve reached another huge milestone! @lrpduk.bsky.social has awarded over £300,000 in support of retired police & fire dogs since our launch in 2019! 🙌🏻 An epic amount supporting RPD’s in need, all thanks to your support & generosity 🙏🏻 Thank you 🐶🐾💙

November is here🍁 and so is RPD Abby! A passive search dog, Abby’s role was to scan people at transport hubs helping identify people carrying drugs & disrupting county lines movements across the country Now retired, Abby loves nothing more than long countryside walks! 🐶🐾💙

It is with the heaviest of hearts we share the news of the passing of RPD Izzy 😔 Sadly, Izzy developed a tumour behind her left eye which was inoperable. She was the most beautiful companion & her final resting place will be along RPD Monty who was her absolute bestie 💔 💙

Happy international dog day, and a special happy birthday to RPD Ursa who turns 10 today! 🥳 We wish you a long and healthy retirement 🙌🏻 🐶🐾💙

July was another big month for @lrpduk.bsky.social with 14 applications received, totalling over £11,000 We are proud to have supported each application in full, ensuring the likes of RPD’s Rusty, Alfie, Jerry, Lacey, Ronnie & others receive the treatment & medication they deserve 🐶🐾💙

It’s August, it’s the summer holidays & it’s raining! But we don’t care as we turn our calendars to see the wonderful RPD Paddy who’s no stranger to water! Paddy, a retired 🧨 detection dog spent the day at the @MetTaskforce headquarters visiting the marine policing unit 👇🏻

Stitch has officially joined the RPD Club! 🤗 After dedicating his life to serving the communities of London, Stitch retires to his handler for a life by the sea, his owner safe in the knowledge @lrpduk.bsky.social will be there to support him if and when needed. 🐶🐾💙

A sad day as we learn of the passing of RPD Buster, one of our calendar dogs this month 😔 He worked as an explosive search dog protecting iconic site across London Heathrow & Ciry airport He worked for 6 years, retiring early due to elbow dysplasia & intervertebral disc disease

It’s July! The summer ☀️ has arrived & we are basking in a mini heatwave and unlike the picture, there’s not a cloud in the sky! RPD’s Buster and Roman went on a day trip to @londoncityair.bsky.social where they spent the day airside with officers from @metpolice.bsky.social SO18 department 🐶🐾💙

Happy 12th birthday to Rusty! Rusty retired after working 9 years as a🔫 💰 & 💊 detection dog across the London He’s gone deaf, has a dodgy eye, a heart murmur and his back leg gets stuck if he lifts it too high… but he’s still enjoying his retirement to the max! 🙌🏻 🐶🐾💙

It’s time to fly in to June everyone! ☀️ RPD Riley had an amazing day with old friends from the 🚁 for our calendar photo shoot! Like cheese and pickle, the dog section and NPAS work hand in hand to provide services to other units in London to locate people! 🐶🐾💙

Some terribly sad news reaching us here at @lrpduk.bsky.social as we learn RPD Zebo has gained his rainbow wings💔 A GP & public order support dog, Zebo saw everything in his 9 year career working in South London until he retired to his handler, who is in our thoughts at this sad time 💙

April saw us make pay awards totalling over £10,000 for the fourth month in a row From RPD Jerry’s repeat medication, to exploratory tests for Ronnie to life saving treatment for Ellie. These are just some of the applications we have managed to cover the cost of in full 🐶🐾💙

Last weekend, 9 runners took on the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for @lrpduk.bsky.social The total amount raised was £5,918! Thank you to everyone who donated and came along to cheer our ‘athletes’ along! 👏🏻 (Continued 👇🏻)

We are sad to share the news that RPD Fizz has crossed the rainbow bridge 😔 Fizz worked in North West London as a GP, public order & firearms support dog. Giving 9 years of dedicated service she retired to her handler with hopes of many happy beach walks and holidays (Cont 👇🏻)

An astonishing first quarter for us at @lrpduk.bsky.social with March making it a hat trick of months where we’ve paid out over 10k each month. March is our biggest supporting month to-date, paying out almost £15,000 in support of RPD’s.

We had a fabulous day in the ☀️ at @stratfordeast.com where some amazing people from Bidvest Noonan & their clients held a sponsored walk in aid of @lrpduk.bsky.social 🙌🏻 Walking 8 miles across London ending at @stratfordeast the event raised over £1,000 for our retired police dogs 🥳

RPD Bella has turned 12! 🥳 Bella, who worked as a police dog in South London retired with her handler. Since she put her paws up @lrpduk.bsky.social has had the pleasure of supporting her in her time of need Join us in wishing her a wonderful birthday full of walks, treats hugs🥰 🐶🐾💙

An amazing turn out for our ‘Pawsitive Stride’ walk in partnership with @transportforlondon.bsky.social Walking & talking with people about their work place roles & learning about police dogs and the role they play A fantastic event which will hopefully be the first of many 🙌🏻 🐶🐾💙

Can you imagine PD Dora’s surprise when she turned up for work to be met by one of her offspring! 😍 She soon realised who TPD Cairo was… same annoying puppy she left a few weeks ago, only bigger! A quick kiss and a cuddle before our on patrol for Dora 🥰 🐶🐾💙

February was another 5 figure month for us at @lrpduk.bsky.social as we awarded over £10,000 in support of RPD’s. One recipient was Daisy, who had a large tumour on her front leg which needed urgent removal due to its aggressive growth & concerns it could be cancerous. (Continued 👇🏻)

It’s MARCH! This month we celebrate RPD Roger, a firearms, cash & drugs dog from City of London Police. Roger worked with PolSA lead search teams to sniff out concealed hides & supported them on planned events Now retired he enjoys swimming in any body of water he can find! 🐶🐾💙

We have been supporting RPD Lily who ruptured her cruciate ligament. She has required operations & rehabilitation, which we have been able to cover the costs in full, thanks to your generosity 🙏🏻 (Continued👇🏻)

Last month we supported RPD Gina after she fell gravely unwell whilst on holiday in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Whilst on a beach walk she had eaten part of a dead star fish which proved to be toxic. She fell unwell very quickly and was rushed to an emergency vets. (Cont 👇🏻)

Remember RPD Winnie who we were able to support last month with the removal of her eye? Well we are pleased to say she is making great progress & most importantly now pain free! 🙌🏻 Thank you for all of your support to allow us to help dogs like Winnie 🙏🏻 🐶🐾💙

It is with terrible sadness that we share the news that RPD Eva has passed away 💔 After suffering from idiopathic vestibular disease a few weeks ago, sadly she never recovered the use of her legs and the toughest of decisions for her owner had to be made 🥺 Continued 👇🏻
