TV companies are often awful stewards of the public trust. Sinclair, who demanded the apology and a payment to Kirk's family, is/was so bad, that even the Ajit Pai led FCC during Trump v1 couldn't ramrod through a merger. Don't think the other large TV station companies didn't learn from that.

Remember, that as awful as Carr is, and he is fucking awful, Kimmel and Colbert are really about media corps knuckling under so they can beg for additional ownership consolidation after September 30th.

There's never a good time for FCC censorship, but there's something special about Brendan Carr flexing his self appointed role as Lord Censorship on Constitution Day. Pretty much says it all.
