#AwesomeCharacters we spend quite a bit of time with Nathan & Lawrence’s dearly departeds in the flashbacks of HTCH, so they all pretty much get their face time but since B&W is all one linear timeline, lots of people who’ve preceded Evan & Jensen are only experienced through their memories 1/

i often think about who of my characters i would be willing to hang out with and i think the answer is none of them 😭 Nathan is sooo serious which makes him a good tortured protagonist but a major bummer at parties Lawrence is such a selfless sweetie I would feel guilty ever being in a bad mood

if i could not overwrite to the point of having to cut a book from my book from every first draft that would be great 🫠🫠🫠

LMAO, even. revenge is absolutely the primary motivator for Nathan in HTCH, and exploring how pursuing that works or doesn’t is a huge focus. it’s my hope that it comes across as neither a “revenge good” or “revenge bad” portrayal- some wrongs deserve to be righted, some vengeance is corrupting
