Remembering James King of the Artists Rifles. My great great great uncle who was an organist in a church before signing up for WW1. Killed in action in 1917 aged 22, his body was never recovered but he is commemorated at Tyne Cot memorial in Belgium.

Really interested in the Fedora story shared by Rosalyn Metz at #iPRES2025. I knew bits of it (the challenge of migrating from version 3 to 4) but haven't heard it in full before. Lots of useful lessons to learn from this around the importance of community over technology.

Just attended a really fun virtual Birds of a Feather session at #ipres2025 with Sean Macmillan on digital preservation games. He says "Anyone can build a game". I've left feeling enthused and keen to give it a go! Not sure when I'm going to fit that in exactly...perhaps WDPD next year!

This afternoon I have mostly been working on a poster for #ipres2025 with @bryonyhooper.bsky.social. We will be sharing top tips and recommendations on the digital deposit and transfer process that we have gathered in discussion with the community...and demonstrating that purple goes with green.

This promises to be an interesting event...but you could make it even more interesting by offering up a digital preservation JPEG2000 case study...

It has been a very RAM focused morning so far 🐏... Early call with Australia this morning - preparing for a workshop in Perth on our Rapid Assessment Model (DPC RAM), followed by some last minute edits of a joint (RAM-related) paper for Archives & Manuscripts.
