Almost done, just the little claws left to sew. But first it's time to wash out all the marks from the marker I used to trace the design onto the fabric. Which I need to do now since this is not going in the dryer, so the drying time is going to be like 3 days or something

That's all the core elements ready for final assembly and still 6 days left until the convention. Turns out I have time to sew the claws after all. Which sure is a lot of component pieces, but they're small so shouldn't take too long to make.

Got the squid's syphon, with jet propulsion mod, finished.

I feel like I should save the pony supplies for a my little pony, but I can just buy supplies for thar, especially with how much work making the pattern will be. So for a nice easy December project, this fabric for a unicorn like this, but almost twice as big with better wings, main, tail, and horn

Stuffed Toy Sunday: U is for Unhinged Life size giant squid, and the steampunk elements have pushed the component piece count to over 500. Only one more big piece to go, but it has 68 component pieces and will be 32 feet long.

This is only a half scale version of the pattern, but because math, I now know I do have enough fabric to go up to full life size. For a giant squid. This thing's going to be over 16 feet long.

Squid is going well, most of the rest of the design can be done directly working with the pattern. (the eyes will be flat, it just seemed silly to cut fabric for the sake of a single photo)

I've decided to instead focus on when the Pokemon games were good, and yeah, gen 7 was good. Interacting with your Pokemon as a core mechanic, good character development and world building, relatable motivations for the enemy team, and the box legendary is a core element of the story from the start.

Getting back to normal and back to sewing (which I've already been consistently doing over playing video games anyway) I found some great fabric for an equine and am considering an anthro my little pony, i.e. the form with maximum cuddlibility for something big. I think I have enough fabric for 6'+.

The princess fennec fox for the ren fair is done. Everything was either thrifted or free, the fox is mainly a blanket, the dress mainly bedsheets, and the necklace is mainly a pillowcase. #sewing #plushie #CreativeReuse #furry

Also found some more short soft faux fur to go towards the foxy, well neither succubus nor incubus are really the right term since those refer to sex and either laying under or on top and I'm making a cuddly lap-sitter, but anyway, I do plan to include the stereotypical demon horns, wings, and tail.

And that's a fennec fox plush made from a blanket. A plush who realized she used to be a blanket and is going to need a moment. The round eyes and open mouth are very expressive, while at the same time do not express anything specific, so the camera angle makes a huge difference.

Got the pattern together for the next one. The weird shape of the head pieces is to accommodate those massive fennec fox ears. Almost all of this one will be made from just the one blanket.

Next project is a travel size version of her, complete with dress, to take to a ren faire. But also, after the pattern revision, I have fabric enough to make another full size version in pink, and with enough faux fur this time to only use minky for the paws and ear insides.

It is done. One alpha shiny partner Eevee made from two blankets and a pillow I got from a thrift store, plus some scrap cotton (mostly from a garage sale) and using a sewing pattern I made myself. #pokemon #eevee #creativereuse

If today was a regular workday, I would've been done working an hour ago. But then again, if today had been a regular workday, I'd be working on the Eevee after work. I think I can finish today, although either way stuffing will wait till tomorrow.

You're cuddling with a pregnant living plush fox and she wants to shrink and unbirth you so you can cuddle with her kits and really cuddle into her. Would you let her? The plush are great for inspiring ideas, but as for sharing the ideas, I can't help thinking writing or drawing would be better.

The Eevee pattern is complete. Time to start sewing the actual plush.

The Eevee plush test run was successful. There are adjustments to make, but nothing that will require another test.

The Eevee floof is now the correct size. Although that correction took 4 hours. Really, really hoping nothing else needs any sort of major adjustments

The Eevee floof was too big. The scale factor shouldn't have been based on the length of the floof, but the length of the floof plus the distance to the neck that results from using that scale factor. Which is a circular reference, but short version, it should have been x1.5, not x2.5

I'm working on an Eevee plush sewing pattern, and I'm looking at this thinking there's no way the neck fluff is that big compared to the body. But both are sized to match the model in the game, so somehow I think this is actually correct.
