I first purchased Gardens of the Moon in 2014 in paperback. After aborting that attempt and giving the book to charity, I then purchased it on kindle in 2017 or thereabouts. Today, determined after a couple of days of focused reading, I got to 90% of the way through. And it’s really clicking now!

My thoughts

Lucas Gabriel shows off some sick grappling chops, threatening a waiter sweep, wrestling up using the space created, then rolling back under and finally using a calf slicer to come on top

Masaaki Sugawara with a sneaky trip takedown as Rambaa Somdet M-16 crashes into him. Masaaki is unfortunately greeted with several punches and a couple of chops for his troubles.

Rambaa threatens with triangle and Masaaki decides to just stand up. I am very impressed that Rambaa can switch his legs while only hanging onto Masaaki's arm.

Rambaa Somdet M-16 hits his own takedown and secures side control. SHOOTO only allowing punches on the ground really stifles a lot of Somdet's game. He'd be much more threatening firing off elbows from top and bottom.
