Alright. PSA: I'm already very on the fence about gen-AI image slop on Voresky, but if you're using it to impersonate someone else's OC, you're gone. Like, double strike. Don't impersonate other people's OC. At best that's copyright infringement. At worst that's being a ghoul.

Some more thoughts on this one. I went and checked the codebase. I THOUGHT I fully wired up the blocking feature there, turns out I didn't. Sorry. Doing this right now. While it prevents future interactions, it doesn't stop existing ones. That's on me, I missed the mark here. I'll fix it ASAP.

Let's talk about this one, because it feels important. I don't necessarily want to ban people outright, but I want to give more tools to people to address their concerns there. The safeword mechanism seems to have address most of it. Blocking should address the rest, but I need to do better on it.

My DMs right now: "HEY VORESKY IS BEING SLOW TO LOA-" Yep, I know. Rootcause is, I built it a little bit too fast, and didn't try caching anything yet. Any profile enrichment is hitting the database directly at the moment. AND I WASN'T EXPECTING SO MANY OF YOU TO USE IT TO BROWSE BLUESKY omg.

If anyone is mostly prey on Voresky like me you can be in multiple bellies at once by enabling them to use universes. Its off by default but if you go into your character settings you can turn it on and even restrict specific universes so that you cant be grabbed in those.

Okay! Megathread for all the info anyone could want about voresky! Because it's a cool site but I feel like a lot of things are not immediately obvious. Each reply to this is gonna be a short thread on something basic about the site, with alt text in most of the images including extra explanations.

Alright, it is time to push this new auth flow. The userbase is now at 500+ and growing, and the Bluesky API rate limit is extremely close to display errors on people's feed. This unfortunately means people will be kicked out, and will need to re-authenticate, since the auth backend changed.
