2/2 - If surgery is not done, eventual paralysis is a given. They are removing another protruding disk & fusing the spine at the C5 and C6 vertebrae. This will, hopefully, relieve the spine/nerve compression that is causing a lot of the pain, numbness and balance issues in his hands, legs and feet.

1/2 - Good morning. Medical update. Brian’s most recent MRI (this time of the cervical (upper) spine) was not great. He is scheduled for another surgery on Wednesday. This one carries a risk of paralysis.

Hi Friends and Fam. Quick update on Brian. It seems that his back issues are resolving, but there is a lot of internal swelling that has to heal. He was referred to a neurologist for constant, severe headaches, weakness, and dizziness. There is still road to travel, but things are looking up.

Hey family & friends! We are at the hospital and Brian is in pre-op for his 2nd surgery to repair his spinal fluid leak. Hopefully this will be our “Christmas Miracle”

Hi everyone. Update on Brian. He had the epidural blood patch to try to seal the spinal fluid leak. It did not work. He is scheduled for a second surgery on Tuesday, and this one will involve a stay in the hospital. We are is hopeful for a full & rapid recovery after this 2nd surgery.

Update on Brian. CT scan showed significant spinal fluid leak. He followed up with his doctor this morning and they sent him immediately to the hospital. As I write this, he’s having brain scans to test for brain damage an epidural blood patch, which is a procedure that will hopefully seal the leak.

Hello everyone. Quick update on Brian. His recovery has hit big stag. We discovered yesterday during a CT scan that he has a pretty significant spinal fluid leak. This has been the cause of his debilitating, migraine, headaches, dizziness, and confusion. We see the doctor tomorrow for next steps.

Love you!! We are pulling through. Brian's recovery is progressing, though slower than we imagined, or would like. We are optimistic that by the end of November, we will be happily back to yelling and getting mad at each other, daily (aka normal 🤪).

Hey Fam & Friends - I am happy to report that Brian's surgery went well on Mon. with no complications. He has been recovering at home. The DR. completely removed the problem disc & said he is confident that Brian will have immediate relief. Have to wait for surgery pain to fade before we can tell.

This is just gonna be good fun…

After many specialist visits and scans, an MRI of the lower back revealed the culprit, a herniated disc that is all the way out of the spinal column and sitting on his sciatic nerve. Surgery is scheduled for 10/13. In the image, the green arrow is where the disc should be. The red arrow is the disc.

So, it is has been a minute since I have posted. We have been going through some stuff here at the Fisher house. Around Aug. 26th, Brian started experiencing severe pain in his left hip and leg. It has been so bad that he has been practically bed ridden since the end of August. (1/3)

I just realized that this month makes 14 years cancer free! Pretty big deal since my life expectancy after going into remission was 5-8 years.
