200+ hrs in Rimworld and I don't think I've got any colony I've started past the mid-game. The colonists usually get gradually unhappy with mood debuffs up the wazoo. I admit it can be quite funny watching them constantly argue with each other and start fights. Until it happens during a raid 😅

Lots of new games coming in the next few weeks, as you would expect at this time. *looks at Steam wishlist and then at my empty wallet..* Gonna be a little while before I buy anything as I'm saving for a new gpu. Welp.

Now I remember why I mostly stick to posting about games. It seems that some subjects can attract trolls and ppl who just want to provoke a debate. I'm not interested in that..plus I can spot the ragebait a mile off.

My Mum spent nearly 8 hrs in A&E yesterday, waiting to be seen by a doctor. I picked her up at about 11pm. Not good to be waiting that long when you're over 80 years old. Problem is, where I live, we have ONE hospital serving about 500k people. So the wait times are crazy.

I think Steam could do with a button/feature which says "I've played this game on another platform". That way it can recognise that I still like games in that genre but I've played it elsewhere so you don't need to recommend it to me.

Playing a lot of Fallout 4 recently made me realise how badly Bethesda got it wrong with Starfield. Allowing fast travel from the get go killed the exploration in the game. I think that's one of the biggest attractions for Bethesda games (at least for me it is). Starfield was a big disappointment.

I bought Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter on PS5. It's a remake of the first Trails game apparently, in full 3D. Don't really know anything about the series tbh but that's probably a good thing as I'm going in blind and can enjoy it for what it is. So far it's pretty damn good. Beautiful art style.

My dog got a new bed. I think he likes it.

Found the T51 Vim! power armor in Far Harbor. Not a fan of the "fishy cola" branding 😅 but I do quite like the colour scheme used. Another one to add to the collection 👍😊

This is possibly the hardest fight in the whole of Fallout 4. There's a Legendary Assaultron Dominator you encounter during the Far Harbor dlc. It took me 3 attempts to beat it on Normal difficulty. Difficult to use VATS as it goes invisible. Explosive shotgun shells did the trick in the end.

Silent Hill f has gotten some good reviews - especially amongst creators I follow and like. One to add to the Wishlist I think. Once I upgrade my gpu I might go back and try to finish the Silent Hill 2 remake as well. Horror season is nearly here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBW3...

Ngl I'm struggling with life at the moment - mentally, emotionally and physically. I've learned coping mechanisms over the years but sometimes PTSD can hit you hard and when you least expect it.. Fallout 4 is my happy place right now. My refuge. Video game therapy. Build and fight.

I finally got my old Fallout 4 modded save working after downgrading the F4 update and repairing all my mods. It was painful, to say the least, but I'm glad I managed to rescue that playthrough after Bethesda's update borked it completely.

Parcelforce accidentally routed my parcel to Newtonards in Northern Ireland for some reason. So not only did they get the county wrong they got the country wrong as well. Genius.

Am thinking I might do a survival playthrough of Fallout 4. I've done a couple of regular playthroughs (one heavily modded) but never done the survival challenge. I know the game pretty well but I imagine it will take some adjusting to.

I love how if you want the 5070 ti instead of the 5070 in the UK you have to pay about 60% more. £499 -> £800 for about 25% more performance and 16gb VRAM instead of 12gb. Graphics cards are way too expensive. This is just the mid range I'm looking at as well.

Alien: Earth continues to impress. Episodes 5 & 6 were 🔥 It's making me want to give Alien: Isolation another go. Not sure about being stalked by the Xenomorph though. Or maybe it's the idea of it that's scarier than the actual reality. Only one way to find out..

Looking at the cost of PC upgrades..I can afford a new motherboard and maybe some new RAM. But if I want a gpu upgrade, I'm gonna need to sell a kidney. Still, I've got 2 and you only need 1, right? 😅

Every time Win 11 updates, my sound settings reset on my Steelseries headset. So I have to go in and manually reassign everything. You think the software would be able to cope with a Windows update but obviously not.

I like the gameplay loop in Anno 1800 but if you've got the Sunken Treasures dlc then trying to manage multiple islands in 3 different regions can get a bit tricky. It's a lot of plate spinning, that's for sure!

Whilst I really like Anno 1800 as a game, I really don't like having to use the crappy Ubisoft launcher to run it. It's buggy and glitchy at the best of times. It also switches to the Windows desktop after I run the game for some reason. PC launchers should be jettisoned into space.

I've said it before but it would be really useful if games were able to implement a feature that reminded you how to play it. I'm thinking this would be especially useful for more complex genres like strategy which have a lot of mechanics. Nothing complex, just refamiliarise you with the controls.

I fell asleep playing Persona 5: Royal. It's a bit jarring going from an action game like Elden Ring to something slower and more story driven like P5. Takes some adjustment. My body was obviously still primed for the faster gameplay of ER. Plus I'm old, so there's that 😅

Ngl, I'm pretty much just keeping my PS5 for GTAVI these days. I don't use it more than a handful of times a year. Although it's a good backup if something happened to my pc.

I see that CDKeys have rebranded to loaded.com. Which makes we wonder how they managed to get that domain name. Because unless they already owned it, then it must have cost them a small fortune to acquire.

Taking a small break from Elden Ring to play some Persona 5: Royal. I never finished the original game despite playing it for nearly 200 hrs. Here's to another 200 hrs.

I defeated Morgott. Cool fight - nice special effects. Similar to the Margit fight which I guess is the point 😉 Now Melina wants to journey with me to the Land of the Giants. I was going to ask her if she wants to share an Uber but she disappeared on me..again.

So I spent the evening in Elden Ring wandering around Leyndell and mostly dying a lot. Although I did open up a few shortcuts..inbetween the dying. And gained a few levels when I wasn't dying. I decided to go back and take on Radahn again. Managed to get him this time, on the 4th attempt 😎👍

Those annoying dudes in Leyndell with the ultra fast crossbows.. They can eat my balls basically. #EldenRing

I finally beat the Godskin Noble. It only took about 25 attempts. I think he's a bit of a bs boss to be honest. He can do multiple attacks per second and if you don't dodge the first one you can get skewered on his bbq fork 😅 Still, I now have a +9 Bloodhound Fang so that's good 👍😁

Well I'm stuck on both Radahn and Godskin Noble - have had nearly 20 attempts at the latter. But I did kill a couple of minor bosses today so not bad I guess. I still suck though, unfortunately. Hence why I can't beat the 2 above. I did take a nice sunset picture though.

Elden Ring's combat feels strange after playing Lords of the Fallen. Must be the locked 60fps which makes it feel slower in comparison. It's not bad, it just takes some adjusting to.

There's a SEGA publisher sale on Steam. Tempted to pick up Shin Megami Tensei V.

I'm redownloading Elden Ring to take the bad taste out of my mouth from that Lords of the Fallen ending. Also, that last boss fight...urgh, stupid gimmick fight. Oh and I think that ending might be one of the worst I've experienced..ever. In any game. I wish I was exaggerating but I'm not.

Game #10 finished this year - Lords of the Fallen The good: solid combat, environmental & character design top notch. Umbral world atmosphere and puzzle design was great. The bad: Terrible story that made no sense. The ending sucked balls as did last boss. A decent, above average Souls like.

Cleansed all the beacons, beat the Lightreaper (4 attempts) and now I'm at Castle Bramis. The end is in sight (I think!)

It seems I'm closer to the end of Lords of the Fallen than I thought. So, after finishing it, I think I might go back to Elden Ring now that I've been bitten by the Souls bug 😅 I've got about 35 hrs in Elden Ring and was doing the Volcano manor questline when I stopped playing.

I just did the Sacred Resonance of Tenacity boss fight. I say 'did' but all that happened was, after removing his invincibility shell, I chucked Enhanced Forsaken Grenades at him and watched his health bar slowly go down while he got stuck on a rock 😅
