Rest in peace to the Mexican League’s all-time hit king, Jesús Sommers (1949–2006). A third baseman, he is the only player in league history with 3,000 hits. He added another 1,073 in the Mexican Pacific League, making him part of the exclusive 4,000 Professional Hit Club.
