It's been 18 months since I finished hiking the Appalachian Trail. Now I’m off on another adventure, to hike the Pacific Crest Trail! 🥾🏕️ A career break is nerve-racking. Last time I worried I was short-circuiting momentum; in fact it was reenergising & made room for new opportunities. Such as…

Fascinating, although I'm not sure it's only a 'sense of shame' holding women who want to do this back... there are a myriad of practical considerations - finances, career, etc - to make if you plan to be a truly solo parent.

"We’re in this very funny paradoxical moment in history, which is full of moments of dynamic hysteria, yet everything always remains the same. We get this wave of hysteria – angry people click more! – and those clicks feed the systems and nothing changes."

Over the years, public discourse has become more polarised and disturbingly dehumanising. Social media and the behaviours it encourages has a lot to do with it, imo. But this Daily Mail article — good grief. Why does hating a rebrand morph into an opportunity to target marginalised communities?

As a freelancer, I often jump at the opportunity to work from a client's office a few days a week. I'm more productive and getting to know your colleagues/the ways of working is way quicker in person (imo). I'm surprised these policies still get so much backlash:

The last person I blocked on X did not follow me, interact with my posts or message me - he is someone who is known to me in real life and was monitoring my social media activity across multiple platforms. i.e. an obsessive and a stalker. Now it seems the only option is to make my account private?

I'm planning a big adventure for 2025 and it's made me nostalgic for last year's Appalachian Trail hike. One of the best times of my life! So, inspired by

Earlier this year I worked on a big, meaty report for Sifted. It's all about how to build a B2B SaaS startup that stands out — and can scale — in the current economic climate. And it's just been published! Check it out:

It was so much fun putting this article together, going through all my journals and photos, and figuring out how to distill the experience into 1000-ish words. I think about the trail every day and the memories make me so happy. I am very grateful to have been able to do this.

I'm in the paper today! For The Times, I wrote about my journey hiking the 2,198-mile Appalachian Trail — and how six months in the woods shifted my perspective on life and work.

Since being back at work, I've had quite a few instances of people agreeing to/arranging calls and then just not showing up. No explanation, follow up or anything. This rarely happened before. What's going on? Is it just me? If you are a Zoom ghoster: why?

Environmental neuroscience is a fascinating topic. I hiked 2,200 miles in one go this year, and something I noticed was how often I'd have aha moments while walking. I'm now trying to fit more nature time into my work week!
