Sunday Treats #CookieParty 😁 This recipe is a do again (and again, and again, and again.) These are German Chocolate (cake) Cookies. FYI: I made a triple batch of the dough and only a double batch of the frosting. In the end I only had 5 cookies that I didn't have enough frosting for. That's okay

#SundayYellow. "A Daisy A Day" by Jeni Groseclose of Brentwood, CA. This was Jeni's first paper pieced quilt. And it won an award as being selected as a Viewer Favorite. The pattern is called: Sunspots by Amy Friend. Jeni made this quilt to honor her dad who always sang a song about Daisies to her.

Sunday Treats Today I made 6 apple pies. Two just regular, double crust pies. Yes, with a milk and sugar crust. Then I made 2 apple pies with a pecan crumb crust. Those 2 have a little rum to flavor the filling. And lastly I made an apple raisin pie with a gingerbread crust. I was a pie baking fool.

#RubySaturday Kryssie Mingst's "Carol Of The Fruits" was almost doomed from the start. She saw this collection of fabrics that intrigued her but they didn't inspire her. So, of course she bought them, and played around using them in different patterns, until she settled on this . Her mom loves it!

#ThursdayGreen "Baskets in Batiks" by Lisa Norton was created for Material Girlfriends' "signature" batik collection. She used classic appliqued basket blocks and did them in hand dyed Batiks. Lovely.

#PinkWednesday Jeanie Partain picked a lighter palette of colors for this fall quilt called "pumpkin Hill." This is not an original design. The pattern is by Anne Sutton. The appliqued motifs are cute and whimsical but yet, not childish. Jeanie did justice to Anne's design.

I went out for lunch today. My local taqueria was empty. I spoke with the lady cashier and she said it's been slow. I'm planning on returning with a bunch of my teacher friends. Please check on your local taqueria!

#TuesdayBlue Linda Syverson Guild of Bethesda, Maryland quilted this tribute to the National Archives. On the blue squares is written the Declaration of Independence. Linda has rendered the facade of the building beautifully by outlining the details in black quilting.

#SundayYellow "Sonoran Poppy Trio" was created by Stephanie Nordin of Tucson, AZ. Stephanie's greatest challenge with this quilt was to create a 3-D poppy what would hold its shape and not dropped. I'll attach a side view because she most definitely achieved her goal!

Sunday Treats Today I made a big platter of pizzelles. They are so light and crisp that most people can eat 2 or 3. One lady, who I guess had never had them before, looked them up. Google said that the pizzelles could possibly be the world oldest cookie.

#TuesdayBlue This one was in the 2022 show, just when the memory of the horrors of the pandemic were still fresh. I do not know the designer and quilter, but I believe it was made in memory of Nikolaus Kozauer.

#ColorfulMonday This is quilt was made by 2 friends, Christine Beach in NorCal and Tracy Clark in Oklahoma. Christine drew up the pattern and they sent the blocks up and back through the mail. She named it: "So You Have Something To Say." I'll attach her comments.

#SundayYellow This is another quilt that I have no idea who created it. Theme =The Wizard Of Oz since they seem to be prancing on the yellow brick road. the flowers stopped me in my tracks since I made many flower pins that look exactly like them, but have never considered putting them on a quilt.

She designed, cut, pieced, and quilted it while she waited, was operated on, and recovered from rotator cuff surgery.

Yesterday was my Sophie's first time to the ocean, I think. Her reaction to the vastness and the waves was priceless. She didn't trust that wave action, wasn't interested in getting wet, and kept one eye on it at all times.

#TuesdayBlue I wish I knew who created this quilt because I just love it. I looked online to see if I could find the pattern, and I couldn't. This must be an original design. I recognize some of the Asian, indigo, fabrics used. Nicely done.
