#SundayYellow Paducah Quilt Alert! This is a Dashiki quilt made in 2003 by Mary Lee Bendolph. The Dashiki is a traditional African shirt, originally worn by men, but the prints and style is now worn by all genders.

Sunday Treats I made corn pudding today. Comfort Food I made some cookies too, but I'll post a picture of them later.

#RubySaturday This is "Shades of the Past" by Vicki Campbell. She used 17 fabrics from the Sweet Beginnings fabric line to create her quilt. The patterns reminded her of fabric that her mom used when she was young. Her sweet memories came together in a lovely quilt.

#FridayPurple Beverly Johnson made this quilt for her daughter Kinzie. "With All My Heart" is an original design. She said it needed to be "original" because Kinzie is an original!

Does anyone have one of these patterns? It was from an old Vogue knitting magazine. Buy, I think you had to order the pattern. 🤞 I would make them into tops over jeans.

#PinkWednesday This is "Flower Meandering Maze" by Kimberly Watkins. I'm intrigued by the design of this quilt. It isn't anything I'd ever dream up, but it speaks to me. He daughter wanted a flowered quilt and Kimberly met the challenge. She melded 2 patterns to create this mesmerizing design.

#TuesdayBlue This is "Double Bear Paw" by Lisa Norton. She designed and wrote the pattern for Material Girlfriends. I know it's the Bear Paw pattern but it reminds me of a thistle.

#SundayYellow This is a mini quilt that I saw on desplay in Paducah KY. It was quilted by Mildred Sorrels of Macomb, Ill. It was in the mini quilt room and, if I remember correctly, was only about 12 inches square!

#GreenThursday New From Paducah This is "Celebration Of Autumn, 1985" by Karmen Streng from David, CA. This is Karmen's design of a chrysanthemum arrangement with plumes of pampas grass & leaves. I love the structure of this design, the rigid background with red swirls to represent the flowers,

Driving into Louisville yesterday, on the 65, from the East, I saw about 20 protesters on an overpass. They were waving a large US flag, but their signs were too small to read from a distance. I just want them to know they were noticed and appreciated.

#PinkWednesday This was one of my favorites from Paducah. Ricky Tims from La Vita, Co named this "Fire Dragon Rhapsody." Ricky was combining a traditional design with contemporary colors. This piece is machine appliqued and quilted. I will attach a close-up so you too can be wowed.

#FridayPurple Bobbie Whitlock did a lovely job on this kaleidoscope quilt which she named "Hydrangeas in the Garden.' As you can see, she was awarded two ribbons for her efforts. I had never realized that hydrangeas would look so spectacular in this method.

#GreenThursday The quilt show in Brentwood had a section where quilters were challenged to create a quilt that matched a photo. Mary Summers created this quilt to match a photo taken of the Agate Beach tidal pool. She did quite a lot of thread painting on the anemone for that realistic touch.

#PinkWednesday Beverly Johnson is the artist behind this "Butterfly" quilt. The butterflies in this quilt began their life in a quilt her grandmother made in 1950. The quilt had deteriorated, but Bev saved the squares and gave them new life by incorporating them in this design. 😁

#TuesdayBlue This is "Hawaiian Honu Dream" by Sharon Campangna. Sharon brought these prints a decade ago on the Big Island. She lovingly kept them in her stash, always keeping an eye out for just the right pattern. Her wait was rewarded with a quilt that screams "Aloha."

#ColorfulMonday This is "Scrappy Flowering Snowball" by Lora Zmac. This quilt is definitely a stash buster! Lora said she selected her backing, and then trimmed enough off for a border. Next she rummaged through her scrap bin for coordinating fabrics, and Flowering Snowballs were born.
