As her question washed over him, Iota found himself feeling lost. 'Home' was such an alien concept to him. He couldn't remember much beyond his time in Fontaine Futuristics and that certainly wasn't home. He gave her an aggravated wail in response as he revved his drill a little.

Iota fixed Aella in his unwavering gaze as her words sunk in. At first he could only stare at her before he looked around the room. He didn't regret his actions, especially since Aella found them amusing. He groaned in annoyance, a tone that seemed to say, "How dare the door be closed on me!".

Taking her words quite literally, Iota threw the door open, potentially even breaking the door in the process and wailing in the process as he announced himself.

Iota revs his drill in warning but makes no move to step forward. He's more than happy to keep a safe distance between them. He emits a low groaning sound as he studies her.

Iota could not believe the audacity of this man. He didn’t seem in the least bit frightened of him which was highly unusual. Instead, he was casually sitting there, offering food and relaxing. It was such a rare sight in Rapture, or at least it was in the common areas of the great city. +

#IotaHeadcanon Iota has trouble sleeping. He gets his best sleep when his head is resting in @aellaeldritch.bsky.social's lap. However on particularly bad days the only way he can get his mind to calm down enough for rest is by holding her close in a protective hug.

The reaction of the strange little man confused Iota. He was used to aggression and fear, but he had never witnessed someone clutching a rock as if it were precious. With a strangled grunt he pointed at it with his drill as if to ask why is was special and worth protecting.

Cracking one eye open to look at her, Iota groaned tiredly before reaching up to cup her face with his hand. He hadn't been able to sleep properly yet, but it helped to have Aella so close. He at least felt at peace.

Watching the stranger sniff a rock, Iota groaned in frustration and confusion. Was this a thing people did now? Sniff rocks? Did it even smell good? To get the stranger's attention he wailed and revved his drill.

Iota gave her a happy grunt as she took his hand. He gave hers a squeeze in return before using their connection to pull her closer against him. It was his way of saying that he had missed her in the short time he'd been away and was happy to see her too.

Iota was completely confused by the behaviour of this strange, stale splicer. He had moved to block his path and instead of reacting in a predictable way, the odd one had sat down and put himself completely in Iota’s power. +

Being asked if he was okay almost seemed to short circuit Iota. This was not the of treatment he was used to. He wasn’t sure how to respond and that confusion angered him. This stranger did not seem scared of him either which was highly unusual, a little concerning and most certainly threatening. +

Although her stance suggested that she was non threatening, Iota could not calm his mind enough to believe it. Restlessly he shifted his weight as he observed her. It was hard to believe that she wasn't there to hurt him. It helped that she had stepped aside as to not block him in. +

Never had Iota heard such an offer. No one had ever offered to trade with him before. Usually they either ran from him or stood their ground and tried to kill him. Trading was completely unknown territory. He had no idea how it even worked. Exchanging one item for another was so strange. +

Finding someone in this long forgotten place had taken Iota by surprise, so much so that he had simply stopped and stared and lost the advantage of surprise if things turned violent, which they usually did. Although this stranger seemed unusually calm which set Iota on edge even more. +
