I’m an audiobook lover and educator. I don’t believe listening to audiobooks is reading. While I don’t think one activity is more moral/valid, I do think we’re facing a serious literacy crisis and the insistence that they are the same is dangerous. Literacy rates are abysmal and this will impact us.

My great-grandmother Dorothy’s mink was my first installation. Visitors could sit with it, put on headphones, and listen to me interview her during her final months of life battling cancer. We talked about raising daughters and what she wished she knew before marrying, and her love for travel.
