Worked on this car carrier in Northern Europe then took it to Baltimore in January 2022 and got minor frostbite from line handling. Then we went to Charleston and it was sixty four degrees and I felt like I was in the tropics.

Tanker discourse had me looking for my pictures when I was working on the Florida Voyager, a Chevron ship. I did not like working for Chevron. I did get to see the beautiful Columbia River going to Portland, OR. Also saw the retired space shuttle over LA (ship in red box) which was pretty cool.

Seeing news of the tanker seizure and as a coast guard veteran that also spent 20 years in the merchant marine I am once again enjoying learning about maritime law here on Bluesky

I worked with Romy, a Filipino sailor, on the APL Agate. I asked him to teach me some Tagalog and he taught me a phrase that were supposed to be a greeting. Went ashore with him in Singapore and we went to the Filipino mall and turns out the greeting he taught me was show me your panties. Fucker

Being unemployed and broke I can’t afford a streaming sports package to watch hockey but I found out I have the NHRA channel for free. It makes me very happy to see these vintage drag races. These are from Pomona, CA where I was born.

My favorite way to annoy my late wife was when we’d watch movies or tv shows and people would be firing guns or have a gunfight in a small enclosed space and I’d say they’re deaf now. They all have tinnitus now.
