Pose studies are just for fun. I dont take them seriously all the time, but they're helpful for seeing and getting an idea of how anatomy is connected in areas. Do pose studies time to time :)

When I do studies in 3D, I try and do some observation with my reference when I first start. Main things are such as: LOA Balance Pinch + Stretch Simple vs Complex Directionality Negative shapes Etc. This just helps me as a rough observation before going in that I know roughly how things are.

Reference Vs Pose for myself. This was an interesting one as you cant fully gain an idea of what is going on without any context, so to me I wanted to push the directionality and make things more clear. Even though part of the essence of pose has changed, it does make for a nice idea in areas.

When I do timed pose studies it does depending on how I feel about things. Sometimes Ill take creative changes and change certain parts of the pose, but more than most I will be looking at storytelling. While the pose hasn't changed MUCH, it has at least changed the intent of the pose in areas.

Continuing my 3D Posing guide sheet (My own personal way I approach things with notes etc) Wondering what things folk see that may be important to add? For example Silhouette Vs Silhouette Value to help with understanding closed silhouettes depend on values to help based on char design etc

WIP 03 Been busy with work. So just took a couple hours out of today to carry working on this a bit more. Still needs me animating more body parts to get it working/flow nicer. It'll get there, then I can animate easier sequences.

After a few (too many) headaches, finally finished building a new computer for animating. God I hate how expensive computers are getting..

Will be a small while before new animation stuff arrives since I’ve moved + currently building a new computer Primarily only for animating. But at the very least I won’t have as terrible a time animating in blender once I’ve built it :)

My Father has passed away. I don’t have a lot of words to say as our relationship was complicated. But despite what happened between myself and him, I wouldn’t be the person I am today had it not been for him in the end Ultimately.

Adding cell shade Last thing now I see is to make sure the textures are correct since i notice some inconsistencies. For reference ive added the before and now after of the edit. While not perfect, I am happier with getting somewhere a bit closer to "on-model" before I animate. (Really versatile rig

Currently making a fair few changes to an Aak model to be more on model. There is a LOT of stuff to do still such as hand painting textures some more and such, but you can see the changes currently. Got notes from an Aak artist to make these changes, and iterating bit by bit.

Very roughly put together for a friend but may as well share here. Mainly shows how rough i start and the method I use. Pretty much iterating each time while using my notes and reference. So its okay if it starts out rough/shit as the important thing is getting the idea down :) I hate walk cycles

Been busy with work with deadlines. Came back to this to start making a bit more progress on it since its been gathering dust still pretty rough stages havent done much with the hands or arms properly yet, tackling that today in areas that are not feeling connected. Need to model a watch for him.

One piece 1144.. Vincent Chansard‘s sequence was insane.

Will post more later on as it progress further since this is pretty early in wip of getting things to work. Just animated small parts tonight, and will be moving into focusing more on getting everything else animated to finish the idea before layering and splining properly. Still pretty rough

Added more breakdowns but wanted to see how it looked going from the rough breakdowns - Spline without any refinement. Theres a lot to do, especially since the end doesnt have breakdowns currently (where things start feeling more pose-posey) Lot to do, things to change, but I take small wins :)

I always hate animating a slight speed - stop lol, requires me to pay attention to the graph editor on the pelvis But worked on this for a little bit today, Mainly need to create a watch model now for him to look at. Pretty rough, but main goal was getting the right placements and most deceleration

Thought id show how the rough blocking to rough spline looks like when I simply just auto tangent it at its current rough position. Ignore the ending pose currently as thats due to change on the Screen Right arm to be a bit more clean looking,currently its in a pretty rough area and working on it :)

Really Rough part I added this evening. I dont get a lot of time to animate in the evenings, so I do what I can and just rough things out really quickly so I dont forget about them the next day. So while there will be a lot to iron out, it gives me a good base for when I start working properly :)

Animating a windmill arm motion while making sure the arms are readable will always throw me off, it also teaches me to not always cheat and sometimes you have to say fuck it and go straight ahead and feel the process. Ive just gotten in some rough poses quickly to get the overall jist of it

Its okay to have different forms of pre-planning. Here im exploring different choices to describe my idea. Its really simple, and poses changes, you can see half way through on the stretch-falling back, I changed the pose after, but I make note of it. You dont need good drawings, just intent of idea

I always love leaving myself notes in blender so i know what im doing Currently in the midst of finishing this rough layout pass for myself and I find it helpful to understand the kind of spacing im looking for when trying to come up with how to get from A-B at times very quickly.
